A lot can happen in 30 seconds: 126 babies are born into the world, Amazon does $42,000 worth of sales, and Oprah earns about $300! But when you’re standing face to face with a potential supporter, 30 seconds is all you’ve got to get people interested in your organization. That time flies, especially if you’re not prepared.
Using this tool as a guide, craft a 30-second elevator pitch with a message that matters – allowing you to communicate the most important aspects of your business and services, while keeping the interests and concerns of your audience top of mind so they immediately realize they need you in their lives!
Once you’ve created your pitch, it’s time to rehearse it! Practice on trusted friends or family members, or even in front of the mirror. (Pro-tip: use your phone to record audio and video of your rehearsal pitch. This will keep you mindful of any “umms” or “ahhs” as well as pick up on any non-verbal cues such as body language and facial expressions that could be distracting during your conversation.)
Now you’re ready to share your elevator pitch with the world, so get out there and get in front of your target audience and potential stakeholders! How do you know if it’s working? They want to know more after your 30-seconds is up!
Sangfroid Strategy works with organizations to help them learn from where they’ve been, define where they want to go, figure out how to get there, and bring their team on the journey with them!
