Strategic Grantmaking and Learning

In 2025, Sangfroid Strategy partnered with Vitric Advisors and Strategy + Action/Philanthropy to support the Three Arches Foundation to develop their strategic grantmaking framework focused on shifting toward more proactive, strategic, and equity-centered grantmaking. At a pivotal moment in TAF’s evolution, this work focuses on clarifying where and how the Foundation’s financial, human, and social capital can generate the greatest health impact for people in Lakewood and surrounding communities. Sangfroid Strategy supported this work by leading key research portions of the project including a detailed review of organizational historical data and background documents, a health-focused landscape assessment, funding analysis of local funder data, and key interviews with civic leaders and peer organizations to further contextualize the data and findings. This participatory, learning-oriented process deepened TAF's understanding of community needs and funding dynamics to help inform their decision-making and priorities.
