Evaluation and Learning
In 2025, Sangfroid Strategy has partnered with the MacArthur Foundation to design and prototype an integrated evaluation and learning resource that brings together internal and external data into a single, accessible view. As MacArthur continues to evolve its learning function across issue areas and strategies, this work supports a clearer understanding of how grantmaking, strategy implementation, and field dynamics intersect—making both current progress and future possibilities more visible. Working closely with the Foundation’s Evaluation and Learning team, as well as IT, grants management, and program staff, Sangfroid Strategy has co-developed a set of repeatable internal and external learning frameworks, including grantee–funder scans, funder landscape analyses, nonprofit ecosystem mapping, and consolidated internal program views. These approaches integrate quantitative and qualitative data to surface patterns, gaps, and alignment across MacArthur’s portfolio, while centering usability, equity, and real-world decision-making needs. The work continues to produce practical, forward-looking tools that strengthen strategic learning, internal alignment, and MacArthur’s ability to refine the indicators used to track progress and impact over time.
